The route offers magnificent views of the Ybbstal Alps and the Mostviertel - on good days even as far as the Waldviertel and the Totes Gebirge as far as the Großer Priel.
On this route, you can always enjoy the wonderful views over Waidhofen an der Ybbs and the Alpine foothills. Once you reach the ridge, don't miss the view of the Sonntagberg and the Mostviertel. In glorious weather conditions, you can even see as far as the Waldviertel.
- Route description From the Schlosscenter parking deck, follow the right bank of the Ybbs River upstream towards Raifberg until the Rehau junction towards Windhag. Along this route, you can repeatedly enjoy the wonderful views over Waidhofen and the Alpine foothills. Once you reach the ridge, the view extends over Sonntagberg to the Waldviertel region. With a gentle incline, continue to Windhag, which is perfect for a picnic break. Return via forest and meadow paths back to the town, and you should visit the Höritzauermühle halfway along the way.
